I think it all depends on what you want from the calculator. For me, speed is crucial. The very feature that made me move on from the 50g to the Prime. I don't care much about the apps or the touchscreen, don't even know how to use most of them.
BTW, you're gonna love the 50g.

If I press TOOL -> NXT, CASCH and HELP do exactly the same thing. I find this quite strange since there's no need to use two different keys for the same thing. Am I missing something?.

Download both from HP, they are still available. They are both large documents, with little duplication. Though I think the intention was one is a introduction, and the other for reference, in fact to really learn all of the machine you will need to read (or at least reference) both volumes. They're free PDF files - get 'em.
