Correct forum for HRAST BASIC for HP-48G/48G+/48GX/49G/49G+/50G? - HrastProgrammer - 04-21-2015 09:17 AM What would be the correct forum for my HRAST BASIC for HP-48G/48G+/48GX/49G/49G+/50G? Does it belong to "General Forum" or "Not quite HP Calculators - but related"? I really don't want the second post in the thread to be "This is not right sub-forum ..." by some dedicated forum member I am working on this BASIC for quite some time and now came to the point where it is stable enough for the first public version to be released. I have yet to write some preliminary manual and I hope to finish it in the next few weeks, so I can post all details and provide a download links ... Good place for the final post but a discussion in the General Forum would be a good pointer. Hi Ž, long time no see! Can't wait to start fiddling with your latest wonder. Be well, my friend. RE: Correct forum for HRAST BASIC for HP-48G/48G+/48GX/49G/49G+/50G? - HrastProgrammer - 04-21-2015 12:41 PM Hi Massimo and guys, I am very happy to see you again The main barrier between you and "start fiddling" is now just the bloody manual! I hope to have something finished in a few days, just to explain some main concepts because this is not really an ordinary BASIC but more like "BASIC-meets-Pascal-meets-C-meets-COMAL" BASIC. I agree that either "General Forum" or "Not quite HP Calculators - but related" would be more appropriate for it than "Software Library" because this is not a program you can type into the calculator, but the complete development environment which, once started, replaces the regular calculator operating system - as usual with my software, if I may add RE: Correct forum for HRAST BASIC for HP-48G/48G+/48GX/49G/49G+/50G? - Massimo Gnerucci - 04-21-2015 01:12 PM (04-21-2015 12:41 PM)HrastProgrammer Wrote: Hi Massimo and guys, I am very happy to see you again Take your time, and thank you, as always. The fragmentation makes it easier to find things of one's particular interest but it makes it possible to miss things we wouldn't have imagined too. The best way to decide which sub-forum to post to is to ask yourself which sub-forum that readers interested in your subject are at and then leave it there come hell or high water. All three moderators can and will change an entire thread's location for you though. Your choice of either General or Not quite HP Calculators - but related, for the development stage, are about 6 of one or half a dozen of the other. No one would mind if you posted on one and left a note on the other that that other is where the action is. As Marcus said; general software is best for the final product but since you can always edit it; it's not totally written in stone. LOL, true, indeed 17 years passed very quickly, but those were very creative years so I won't complain too much ... |
