TI Programmables - bshoring - 05-24-2015 08:04 PM Do the TI programmables with LED displays have the flickering of the display when a program is running, like the early HP's have ? I assume you refer to calculators like the TI58/59. No, they do not have that flickering display like the HPs of the day. But there is something similar. During program execution the display stays blank, except the leftmost digit which shows something like a "C" character. This character slightly flickers during program execution. If you haven't seen it yet, there are several videos on youtube that will give you an impression. For instance this one, (start at 5:00 minutes). Dieter RE: TI Programmables - EdS2 - 05-25-2015 12:17 PM Indeed, the TI-57 does flicker (shows intermediate results) - see here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C6_XSSW0FHk RE: TI Programmables - bshoring - 05-25-2015 04:56 PM Interesting ! The only time I saw one running, the printer was engaged and I was paying more attention to the printer than the display, and that was more than 30 years ago. Thanks ! Bob |
