HP 82240A printer from the future? - Harald - 11-28-2015 06:52 PM I have recently bought a dead 82240A (I needed the print-head to replace a broken one). I was surprised to see the serial number starting with 87... (or was it 89...? I'll have to take a picture on Monday). Does anyone know what that means? With HPs usual Serial number decoding one would come to the conclusion it was built in 2047 (or 2049) - which is rather unlikely ;-) RE: HP 82240A printer from the future? - John R - 11-28-2015 08:26 PM My HP-82240A serial number also starts with 87. I have noticed that a few Coconut and Pioneer accessories seem to have date codes that do not follow the minus-60 rule: I also have an HP-82241A AC adapter with date code 86, and a couple of HP-41 ROMs with date codes in the 80s. |
