AstroLab 4 and new FW - Marcel - 04-22-2016 12:11 PM

For those who use AstroLab 4, a new corrected version will be post tomorrow (saturday).
This version will work with the new FW (10077) and the past one also.

I think the function name can not exceed 30 char long in the new FW (10077).
I have change this and AstroLab 4 work well now for me with FW (10077).

Marcel

hi Marcel,
I use it (with my Effemeridi program, that I'll check soon for compatibility).
I din't know about the "30 char" limit... Is it sure?

Hi Salvo!
I am not sure but after the installation of the new FW, some functions of AstroLab declare error at line where I see the function "HeliocentricEclipticalCoordinates".
I decide to change it to "HeliocentricEclipticalCoor" and after that AstroLab work fine... I check and reduce all the functions names to a lenght<30 and now everything is OK.
Pleasure to write to you again!
Marcel

I think it is 31.

Basically, we started enforcing a bit more checking on things to ensure avoidance of problems. Things will error now if the conflict with built in variables, exceed lengths, etc.

thank you both.
I'll review soon Effemeridi (I think this one is the only or one of a few set of programs of mine with "long" names...

Hi Tim and Salvo!
Thank you Tim for your help!
Nice work...

I also find that if I format a word in the Note app of AstroLab on the real calculator, the virtual calculator crash when I start the program containing this note after the transfert..
I will continue to experiment this thing...
