To anyone that had to use IE to download... - Tim Wessman - 04-25-2016 08:06 PM

If you are one of those that had problems downloading the update using your browser of choice, could you please run a check for me and report back? (provided you are willing and able to do so)

Please try to download either/both of these using the given links below and let me know if it downloads and installs correctly for you. You may need to manually run an uninstall of the old one. The firmware zip appears to have not been impacted at all.

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/calculators/Prime/HP_Prime_Connectivity_Kit_20160414.exe
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/calculators/Prime/HP_Prime_Virtual_Calculator_2016_04_14.exe

(yes, it should say http://ftp.hp.com...)

Please report the behavior you saw before with the browser (firefox, chrome, etc) and what you see now if it changed.

Also, are you on a fast connection? Or is it taking a while to download? They think there might be a fairly recent 120 sec limit on the ftp transactions.

Thanks!

Tim, A couple days ago I was only able to D/L these using IE. I just tried it with Firefox, which failed the other day, and it works now. Thanks!
Ed

Hi Tim I just downloaded from both links on Chrome, no problem. Using Windows 7 Pro, Top link came in under 1 min. bottom link just under 2 min. On fast connection.

On Windows 10 (64-Bit) using Google Chrome browser(32-Bit):

A couple of days ago, virtual calculator.exe file failed to download, ConKit downloaded successfully.
Today with the links you provided in this post, both files downloaded successfully.

Well, looks like I'll need to update the auto updater...

This should work better anyway. Thanks for anyone who's tested so far.

Both downloaded and installed successfully, Chrome on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. About 2 min and 8 min respectively on a slow, crappy DSL connection. :-(

Also pleased to note that after uninstalling and reinstalling the virtual calc, all my variables including the History were intact.

John

It might be an idea to publish md5/sha-256 or other checksums with the files so that people can verify their downloads *in the usual way* in future.

An example of typical usage here:

You might even encourage disseminating to local mirror services.

Both downloads are good -

Win 7 Home 64 bit, Chrome 49.0.2623.112 m and IE 11

First file 40 seconds
Second file 1 min 49 seconds
