9114-to-9114 disk cloner for HP-71 - Joe Horn - 02-20-2014 09:53 PM Anybody remember cloning entire LIF disks from one 9114 drive to another, using an HP-71? Back in the PPC days, there was an awesome HP-71 program that cloned the LIF floppy in :TAPE(1) to all the other HP-9114's on the loop, simultaneously. The program took no inputs, and it didn't matter what the directory size of the destination floppies had been, because it cloned the source disk to the destination disks, including the directory. IIRC, it didn't even copy file by file; it sent some IL commands to the drives that put them into some kind of copy mode, during which the HP-71 wasn't even doing anything other than passing IL frames through the loop. I'm hunting through the LIF disk images in the museum's ftp collection, but I can't find this program. There are so many programs with COPY or CPY in their names that life's too short to hunt through them all. Thanks in advance to anybody who remembers what this program was called!
