What to do with XML update? - John Colvin - 11-24-2016 07:37 PM I received a notification from HP today about an XML update. When I clicked the download button on the HP Support Center site, it only linked me to the XML script. What am I supposed to do with this and what is it for? http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/detail?swItemId=ca_178261_1&lang=en&cc=us&hprpt_id=HPGL_ALERTS RE: What to do with XML update? - Tim Wessman - 11-25-2016 01:33 AM Nothing to do with it, and these alerts are news to me... If you look at it, you'll notice it just is a simple file that represents the current structure on the ftp. When using HTTP only for updates, you can't "browse" a directory like one might with FTP. Since FTP is blocked or problematic for some people, a small file that represents what files are there in order to support checking for updates is needed. |
