Yes.

Not many of those, perhaps less then 100.

The pictured calculator is clearly labelled "HP 15c+" (rather than "HP-15C+").

Does someone know, if this also applies to the "HP-12C+" or "HP 12c+", perhaps?

Greetings,

Matthias

There were no units ever labeled 12c+ or 12C+ that were for sale or even out for beta test, to my knowledge and memory.

Before they got into bed with Microsoft and basically went down the pan, Nokia used to have a great community in their "Nokia Support Discussion" forum. A pal of mine, also from Lancashire, and I were the two leading contributors on that forum and the number of times we had to disappoint people by telling them that they had just bought a Chinese knock-off on TAS that had nothing to do with Nokia is mind-boggling.

That particular auction site, maybe others too, is rife with fake products, so is it much of a stretch of the imagination to think that there could also be fake HP calculators?

Indeed! In fact one of the development 12c+ units was actually a 15c+ chassis with 12c+ f/w. Why waste money (and time) when something can be repurposed... but the dang keyboard must have been hard to memorize.

And just so that you can sleep at night once again, you should know that machine has had the 15c+ f/w restored.

Not that one. Also, as a beta tester, it would be nice to know if it ever had updated software or still has version 1.0; the original buggy buggy one.

Mathias, yours is identical to that one displayed.

Cheers, Geoff

In this case, no, the machine is genuine HP, and was a door prize at the HHC annual mtg.

The calc has a new owner. But I wonder a bit about the serial. It dosn't look like a proto serial: CNA 02130770
Any idea?

Matthias

They are not made in house anymore...
Also my prototype 40GS from 2005 has a rather dull serial number.
