HP-85 ROM internals picture? - 1980s_john - 02-28-2017 09:51 PM Hi, Has anyone got a picture please of the inside of an HP-85 ROM? I recall they look like a blob of epoxy with wires coming out, but Google can't find an image. Thanks, John RE: HP-85 ROM internals picture? - Paul Berger (Canada) - 02-28-2017 10:49 PM There are no visible wires it is just a blob of epoxy on a small printed circuit board with plated through holes along the long edges that provide connection to the ROM drawer. Under the epoxy blob the die is likely wire-bonded directly to the circuit board. Ah, yes - I have attached one reduced scale version of one of my images. If you are interested in Series-80 computers you should join this group (in addition to this Forum) because it specializes on the Series-80 systems. No big overlap with the more calculator-centric business going on here. Martin |
