Best way to backup and restore UserKeys on HP48 - Chris Dreher - 03-13-2017 06:54 AM What is the best way to back and restore UserKeys and UserKeys.CRC that the HP48 stores in the hidden directory? Someone recently asked me this question. In a nutshell, I told them how to access the hidden directory and then to just save off the UserKeys and UserKeys.CRC objects. When they want to restore their key assignments, they just overwrite the current UserKeys and UserKeys.CRC objects in the hidden directory with the previously saved versions. I am wondering if there is an easier and/or safer way. Note: I also mentioned to them the ARCHIVE and RESTORE commands but these also save and overwrite the entire HOME directory. I don't know why I didn't think that HP already had handy commands for these. Thanks for the reminder. :-P |
