The keys are pretty distinguishable.

My workshop pretty much consists of:

A Dell computer on a desk I think we bought from Staples several years ago.

And my backpack (and most likely another carry bag as well) which contains the books, notes, and calculators I am using for the moment. I usually program, read, and do math on the go (during my lunch at work, sometimes during work breaks, after work, sometimes Sundays or nights at coffee shops, etc).

I suspect the reason we're not getting many pictures is that they're all too messy to show off. That would include mine. At least mine is not as messy as this one (Jim Williams'):

Oh my! What is this guy doing?

(I mean I get it, circuits, but they do not seem calculators)

He is somewhat well known in the electronics industry, but not as well known as Bob Pease or a few other gurus. It wouldn't surprise me if there's a calculator in the mess somewhere. His hair almost blends into the mess, huh?!

I had a boss once whose desk was just shy of this one (and there was an HP-35 in there somewhere):

He was a smart engineer, and a nice man to work for; but scatterbrained in some ways, and he always looked like he lost a fight with his comb, his shirt was always untucked and his pants falling off his rear, etc..

That's my good friend Jim Williams, a self-taught engineer who became the world's greatest analog applications guru (in my opinion). Here's a 10-minute video of him repairing the Tek 465B scope belonging to Tom Osborne, another friend of mine and the guy responsible for developing the calculator that would become the HP 9100.

Jim died suddenly of a cerebral hemorrhage back in 2011. Here's a very short private video I staged with him at his bench wishing someone in Scotland who was a big fan a happy birthday. That's what Jim was like. Very, very big-hearted. He died very soon after making this video.

Mine is a mess most of the time too, occasionally I tidy it up some but it does not stay that way for long. My desk is not any better, there is very little space on it that is not occupied.

Not much going on, especially when compared to Jim Williams' 2000+ projects!

Jim Williams' articles were my favourite in the EDN magazine, was sad when he died.

I'm living in the basement of our house where I can do what I want. I like it :-)

Here is my music room (living room)

In the next room is my electronic area

Behind is the mechanic area

And here is the wine cellar
