home diff anomaly - roadrunner - 06-17-2017 01:41 PM In home type: diff(X^(32/10),X) you get: (1/5)*(X^1/5)^(−4)*X^3+X^(1/5)*3*X^2 which, if you go thru the algebra, is correct. However, if you click on the answer and then click enter you get: (1/5)*X^(1/5)^(−4)*X^3+X^(1/5)*3*X^2 on the command line which: a. is incorrect, and; b. not the same as the equation on line one of the stack. The parenthesis is misplaced: X^(1/5)^-4 should be (X^1/5)^-4 This is on the emulator for PC, the handheld, and the free android app. Originally I thought only the handheld exhibited this behavior but just recently noticed it on the newer versions as well.
