The Palm m100 that I designed that original skin for, with its 160x160 pixel screen, has passed away years ago, but that skin is still available at http://thomasokken.com/free42/skins/. :-)

Ooh in my presentation of the DM42 at Fort Collins at the HHC2016 I pretended to have it had in 2002 already on my Tungsten T3. One of us is obviously wrong. Guess who

Version 1.0.12 is available here, at least for Linux and PalmOS, not for Windows. But you may be able to compile the source files and recreate a Windows version.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for Free42. I have it on all three of my computers at home, my iPhone 6, and my iPad Mini 4. I also had it on my Palm TX years ago.
I still use my physical HP-42S, but as my eyes age I find it easier to use your program on a bright and colorful screen. The super high speed and huge available memory are simply added perks.

Setting up a development environment for building those old versions can be a chore. I still have all the required tools on a couple of CD-R discs, but I'll be happy never to touch those again.
The only thing I miss is the built-in resource editors in Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 -- I've been too cheap to pay for the full version of VC++ 2008 so far, and the free Express Edition lacks that functionality, so changes to dialogs and such are a bit of a hassle.
Anyway, I recommend sticking with recent builds. While I am honored that Free42 has apparently reached an age where it can be the subject of nostalgia, I wouldn't touch those old versions anymore myself. Too buggy. :-)

Interesting. While looking at the hpcalc.org due to the series mapped to calculator models, I noticed that free42 2.0.7 was added to the site but in the 48 section.
I wonder why. It may be difficult to be found there.
Anyway it is amazing how much work Eric has done over years.

Given the focus of hpcalc.org, it's surprising that it even hosts Free42 at all. Not that I'm complaining -- there have been one or two occasions when people came to me asking about the PalmOS version, which I abandoned years ago, and I could point them there to get the latest (and final) binaries.

My site was originally only for the 48, so the small number of files I had for other calculators got mixed in with the 48 files (mainly emulators for other models, like the 12C).
Then when I added the 28 and 38 sections in 1998 and 49 section in 1999, the 48 sections still didn't have a calculator specified. It wasn't until I recreated my site with a database back-end in 2000 that the 48 section was finally specified as such, making the URLs a bit of a misnomer for the non-48 files.
For a long time I have been thinking about moving all those items to an "Other Calculators" section but I haven't decided on a good name for it so it just hasn't happened yet. Perhaps I should just make a decision and do it.
