HP Yokogawa - HP-Collection - 01-12-2018 04:33 PM I'm currious which calculators exist in a YOKOGAWA style. I have seen the following: HP-45 HP-21 HP-25C HP-97 So it looks like only the classic, the woodstock and the topcat series where made in this style. Anybody seen another serie? Maybe sting or spice are the most realistics) RE: HP Yokogawa - toml_12953 - 01-12-2018 06:04 PM (01-12-2018 04:33 PM)HP-Collection Wrote: I'm currious which calculators exist in a YOKOGAWA style. A Japanese company, possibly no longer extant, that sold co-branded HP machines ("Yokogawa-HP") within Japan in the 70's. Back then it was much more important for products to be from Japanese (at least Japanese appearing) manufacturers to be successfully sold in the Japanese domestic market. I believe they translated the manuals into Japanese (though I've never seen one) but the machines themselves were the same. That need declined quite a lot in the 80's, and has steadily declined since until today it matters hardly at all. As for if there were more models sold co-branded, I'm not aware of any others and in fact did not know about the -45 and -21 until now. My comment based on Tom's comment, saying when googled, nothing relevant came up. I guess relevance is hard to determine from a company's website? On the other hand, if some were to google, say "Hewlett Packard", and get to today's HP website, he/she may have to work quite hard to find reference to calculators. But the badge only says "Hewlett Packard", no mention to Yokogawa, unlike older calcs. RE: HP Yokogawa - badaze - 01-12-2018 08:10 PM Look at the logo at the bottom of the page. RE: HP Yokogawa - HP-Collection - 01-12-2018 08:15 PM Here is a small summery what I know.... As you can see, there was even a japanese backlabel..... (maybe rarer than the YOKOGAWA front logo as it got damage when the calc was repaired) RE: HP Yokogawa - HP-Collection - 01-12-2018 08:17 PM (01-12-2018 08:03 PM)Massimo Gnerucci Wrote:(01-12-2018 07:54 PM)badaze Wrote: An ad. RE: HP Yokogawa - Benoit Maag - 01-14-2018 08:47 PM There is a Japanese calculator museum website with an HP page See attached link: http://www.dentaku-museum.com/calc/calc/51-hp/hp/hp.html At the bottom of the webpage, they list these machines with pictures and you can see the Yokogawa-HP labels RE: HP Yokogawa - rprosperi - 01-14-2018 10:41 PM (01-14-2018 08:47 PM)Benoit Maag Wrote: There is a Japanese calculator museum website with an HP page Interesting, thanks for this link! So there were also 65 and 67 machines with the "YHP" badge? This is news, but it makes sense that they would include the top of line machines too. RE: HP Yokogawa - HP-Collection - 01-14-2018 11:05 PM hehe, the YHP-45 on this website is in Allschwil, mine has the same serial at least. |
