Hallo Franz,

(04-24-2014 04:24 AM)walter b Wrote: This is not a simple size reduction by a factor 1.414 (going from A4 to A5) but the text and tables were all dealt with individually. Font size was reduced by just 10% typically. Hence the increased number of pages. Just look at the equivalent of p. 31, for example: Oh yes! I had not considered that you did a complete revision of all content for the adjusted size, yet another remarkable effort. And this makes it certain I will be ordering 1 each of both manuals, spiral bound (assming we reach critical mass). Thank you Walter! --Bob Prosperi |

RE: [34S v3.3, 31S v1.2] Manuals
Hi Walter,
I'm constantly amazed at the amount of work you guys put into these projects. Much appreciated. I'd order a 34S spiral-bound. As an aside, the quality of the text (grammar, usage) is generally pretty good. There's just one thing that stuck in my mind, as you seem also to be at least slightly interested in languages... You occasionally write "an hardware". You may be aware that some native speakers write "an historical ..." etc. This is, basically, wrong. "An HP30b" is correct because it's spoken as "an aytch pee thirty bee". But one doesn't say "it's an 'istorical 'ardware solution." (well, some people might -- but then you have to add "ain't it guv'nor?" at the end. |

I imagine I'll do one of each. The binding isn't super important to me.

Subtotal of orders
Counting the orders received after I published pricing, we've reached ...
d:-) Edit: * A5 is 148mm x 210mm (see ISO 216), corresponding approximately to 5 53/64 x 8 17/64 Imperial British thumbs. ** This corresponds approximately to 6 1/16 x 8 27/64 Imperial British thumbs (if that helps anybody). |

RE: [34S v3.3, 31S v1.2] Manuals
I guess most 34S owners simply don't know about the proposed manuals.
Perhaps a notice on the Sourceforge page might help? Or emails by people who made one for someone else? |

RE: [34S v3.3, 31S v1.2] Manuals
I would like to order one A5 size spiral bound WP 34S manual. Please let me know the ordering instructions. I've used HP calculators since November 1975 and have about eleven in my collection. I love the WP 34S. Someone finally got it right.

Muito bom dia, Jose.

Anyway, automatic translations are great fun. I still remember our whole family ROFL reading an automatic translation in a hotel lobby in San Diego (from English to German). Seriously, take the time and start learning the language if you're interested in. Cumprimentos d:-) |

Concerning German learning, I believe it is a lost cause for me. I tried a couple of times when I was young, but I failed. Then, after traveling so many times to Frankfurt (to attend seminars, and I have family there) I keep asking information in English to local people in the streets and keep getting very nice informative answers in German! When they realize I will not take advantage of that information, they kindly speak in English, and at the end, they tell me something like "... You are staying here a entire week??? You will speak German by then..." Jose Mesquita RadioMuseum.org member |

If you've family here they should teach you IMHO. Something along the lines of "total immersion" - so you may speak proper Hessian after a while. d;-) |
