RE: Allschwil Meeting 2020
Hi All
I will attend the Allschwil 2020 meeting if soccer games are taking place again with 75000 people watching and Zürichs 'Knabenschiessen' will be hold in september 2020. BTW: My HP-25 is still definitely computer virus free. Take care all of you Bernhard That's one small step for a man - one giant leap for mankind. |

I'll be there as well.
It is a 7.5 hour drive from Amsterdam, and well worth the effort I think. |

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2020
Well, I just booked my flight for Allschwil. Only $552 for round-trip from Houston to Basel with a short layover in Frankfurt.
Let's just hope COVID-19 doesn't still interfere with the conference or international air travel in November. |

I cheapest I can get here is $1250 CAD ($887 USD) for a 5 days Montreal-Zürich-Basel round-trip with Swiss Air. Hotel is $450 CAD ($319 USD) for 3 nights at the Steinenschanze Hotel. |

Beware: there are a couple of cheap flights on Skyscanner offering Montreal direct to Basel/Mulhouse saying "change airport in London", Gatwick in this case. Do not do this for two reasons: 1) no two 'London' airports are actually close to each other so it will cost a fortune and take ages, and 2) Gatwick Airport is likely to have gone bust by October - their two biggest users (British Airways and Virgin) have closed operations there and are very unlikely to restart ever - certainly not by October. |

The hotel is at walking distance from the train station, there is also a bus that can drop/pick me at the hotel door. |

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2020
Guys,
I finally got the time to upload the Allschwil HP Meeting 2020 website: http://www.hp-collection.org/meeting2020.html You will find the current informations and the registration form (.doc - you'll manage that, I'm shure). Since there is still some money left over from the last meeting and I promised you that this will be credited to your account, all visitors of the 2018 meeting will get a discount of 10 Euro on the registration. Overseas visitors will not pay any registration this time. You are our personal guests, because you already have high expenses. Please keep in mind that also in Switzerland the Corona situation is constantly changing. We are anxious to hold the meeting and are still working on a protection concept. Nevertheless we cannot refund any travel and accommodation expenses if the meeting cannot take place. |

I must say I'm a bit jealous, Eric. Hopefully you won't have to quarantine for 14 days before you can attend the conference. Have fun and we'll be looking for your videos! |

We will write a certificate for Eric, which he can then present to Donald Trump after his trip - don't know if he will understand him *LOL*

RE: Allschwil Meeting 2020
I will do whatever it takes to ensure I can still fly. If it means quarantining for 14 days in advance, that's fine -- I can vote early. And I will be wearing a P95 respirator in the plane.
But I am more concerned that I would be required to quarantine upon arrival, which would make things impossible. I know Germany currently has restrictions on Americans entering -- does that include international airport connections too, or just people wanting to enter Germany? Likewise, does Switzerland currently have any restrictions on Americans? |

Hopefully the US will be removed within the next 3 months so I can attend. Seeing that Russia was already removed from the list last week is a good sign. |

As long as you didn't leave the airport, you were fine. Inside the airport, social distancing and mask rules were in effect, but that was all. |
