hp 16c (or any voyager) User Guide Dimensions
Hello.
may I know the exact dimensions of the user guide for hp 16c.
well if you don't have the guide for 16c, then even the user guide dimensions for any voyager would be ok as well. (I think user guides for all voyagers have the same dimensions ... right?)

thank you so much for the help

Yes, Voyagers manuals have the same width and height, but not the same depth.
Code:
width  = 4" 5/8"
height = 6" 5/8"
depth  =    1/4" (varies)
The old ones are metal ring bound and the recent ones are perfect bound.

Not always, I have two 12C manuals, a rev F from 1984 which is perfect bound and a rev H from 86 which is metal ring bound:

could you clarify the dimensions please. I think I am missing something.
because when I converted these dimensions to cm I got: 11.74 cm x 16.8275 cm
which seams too small for the manual.

Here is a picture of the side:

as well as a confirmation of the dimensions:

are you planning to re-print the 16C manual?

I would do the following:
  • download the HP-16C Owner's Handbook great scan from Eric Rechlin.
  • print the entire book recto-verso (2 sided) while keeping the original page size on letter/A4 standard paper.
  • print the front cover pages recto-verso (2 sided) while keeping the original page size on letter/A4 thick paper (cardboard).
  • print the back cover pages recto-verso (2 sided) while keeping the original page size on letter/A4 thick paper (cardboard).
  • cut the papers/cardboards to the original size with a manual paper cutter
  • use a binder machine to bind the pages
I have done several manuals that way with great results, but time and patience are required.

Clearly Canada got the memo to change from spiral to perfect binding fairly late. One would think Sylvain would know that... Wink lol.

Seriously, thanks for this concise example Didier, I suspected that this was not a clean break; I recently acquired some perfect-bound copies that I was pretty sure are earlier than some spiral-bound I have stored away, but never unpacked stuff to to drag them out at the same time to compare.

Another obvious and intuitive 'fact' (I would have agreed with Sylvain before my recent acquisition) proven untrue.

RE: hp 16c (or any voyager) User Guide Dimensions
A reasonable alternative approach that roughly matches the original size is to print the manual 2-up, 2-sided, landscape (i.e. two pages side by side). Take the result to Office Depot/Kinkos (or equivalent outside the U.S.) and have them split the copy down the middle and spiral bound the pages. A very serviceable result.
