LOTUS 1-2-3 Rel 1A UTILITIES for HP Portable Plus
From the above diskette I can only read the directory (see below) but none of the files. In my HP Portable PLus Lotus 1-2-3 Release 1A is installed as ROM. On this page of the HP Computer Museum http://www.hpmuseum.net/exhibit.php?swc=11 there are two times Lotus 1-2-3 Utilities for the HP 110 as 2) and as 4) And there is "Lotus 1-2-3 Utilities for Portable Plus" but for release 2.01. Does anyone have the disk pictured above or the files from it and could give them to me? Code: BLOCK1 FON 3.597 11.04.84 1:23 BLOCK1.FON |

Hello Klaus,
attached is the contents of the disks I had created for my HP-110s. The source has been the TD0 images from HP-Museum archive. One could probably also replace files from generic MS-DOS versions of Lotus 1-2-3 for some of the files. Good luck, Martin |

They may still work, I'm not sure, but just wanted to point this out. If these don't work, holler, I know I have an original HP-110 Lotus diskette... somewhere... --Bob Prosperi |

This would also be interesting for the HP-Museum, even if they have transferred their hardware collection, my understanding is that they will maintain their web site. Martin |

RE: LOTUS 1-2-3 Rel 1A UTILITIES for HP Portable Plus
Hello Martin,
thank you for providing the zip files. Three others have already downloaded them before me, so there is a need for them. The first archive "HP 110 - 00090" is the Lotus 1-2-3 Utilities for 110 and are probably not specifically intended for the Portable Plus. The two archives beginning with "HP 110 - 45539" contain utilities for Lotus 1-2-3 Rel 2.01 for the Portabele PLus as a look into the file HDR reveals. The archives look good in my opinion and the programs in them should work. Encouraged by the fact that I can read the directory of the floppy disk I looked for a program that tries to read the data more than a few times. I tried it with VGA-COPY/386 on a Pentium 1 PC under Windows 98 and can report a small miracle: After unpacking vgacp625.zip I created a shortcut for vgacopy.exe, set the XMS memory to 1024k in the properties of the shortcut and started the program. In it I increased the retries to 99 and pressed Read. Then it happened: The disk was read track by track into RAM without even once faltering. Then another DD disk was inserted and Write was pressed. From the newly written disk all files could be copied to the hard disk without any problems. Below is the result, it's very fresh and I haven't tried the programs in it myself yet. https://www.pcwelt.de/article/1143380/vga-copy-386.html It remains exciting... |

I copy all files with the help of kermit to drive a: , the ramdisk of the portable plus. Then I start the tutor program and it show an Intro-screen. After pressing a key it beeps endless and show „invalid drive“. The reason is in the file tutor.cnf: With a Hex editor you can see c:\ in it. I change it into a:\ and the tutor works very well from the ramdisk! In graph.cnf it is already a:\

RE: LOTUS 1-2-3 Rel 1A UTILITIES for HP Portable Plus
Klaus,
excellent! So we now have both versions for 1A and 2.01. Sometimes it is good to try different programs to read "difficult" disks. I just checked my Portable 110 and it also has Lotus 1-2-3 version 1A. I have not used my 110 for a long time since the Portable Plus (Lotus 2.01) is more convenient with more RAM and its larger screen (and even more in its green/yellow screen version). The attached document compares the contents of the Lostus 1-2-3 Utilities disks for the HP 110 and the HP Portable Plus. Martin |
