(32S) Determination of Dry Matter in small silage samples
An excerpt from Determination of Dry Matter in Small Silage Samples, Journal of the University of Wales Agricultural Society, 78, 101-114 (1988)
INTRODUCTION AND METHODOLOGY A previous paper (Faithfull, 1997) indicated that a suitable method for dry matter determination in small silage cores had been developed; this paper describes that method. … … Calculation … the volume of aqueous distillate is reduced by the volume of acid. This is estimated according to the formula … Programmable calculator program A program has been devised to allow easy calculation using a Hewlett-Packard programmable calculator; this is shown in Figure 3. Figure 3. Silage Dry Matter Program for Hewlett-Packard HP 32SII To write the program into the calculator, activate program-entry mode and start at the top by typing: … … To run the program, enter the variables and store them. RE: (32S) Determination of Dry Matter in small silage samples
I really appreciate your posts of the use of HP calculators in published papers.
In this case however I noticed a few issues:
While the first three points are just a bit of annoyance, the last one on line 017 is really a bug. You might enter a value different from 10 for \(m\) in register M and it will not be taken into consideration. Here's a corrected and slightly optimised version of that program: Code: LBL W Example 10 STO M 7.5 STO V 10 STO T XEQ W 255.6542 References |
