Many things come into mind:
First: Current leakage somewhere.
Maybe between the zebra strips and CPU-board, or the I/O block and the kbd pcb,
a defective LCD module solder path, or even a defective CPU board.

Hi Namir, I had such a problem many years ago with a bought calculator on TAS, and I remind that somebody, here, suggested it could be due to a defective capacitor; actually I never knew the cause 'cause I sent back the calculator. So I'm curious me too to know what could be the issue on your calculator.

Are you saying a brand new set of good quality (e.g. Energizer) N cells is depleted in 4 hours in a 41CV just sitting on the table? If so, it must get awfully warm, as that energy has to go somewhere. Or do you mean 4 hours of heavy execution time?

Not sure what the calculator user meant by 4 hours (whether of heavy use or not). He said he was testing his Stress module that he plugged in.
