Resto-Mod on the HP-97
Well, my keyboard restoration on the HP-97 continues…

Anyone with older eyes has noticed that the raised labels [ON] [OFF], [PRGM] [RUN]… above the function keys on the 97 are very hard to read. This "resto-mod" attempts to fix that problem.

I grabbed a few white "Gelly Roll" pens from Amazon and here's the result of some very light work. I know it's not stock, but that's the whole point of resto-mod in the first place. Keep it stock, but make minor changes to make it usable.

Hope you enjoy the pics.

Jeff

P.S. I used the Gelly Roll 05 White pen.

Looks really good!

Also, for things like this if you are familiar with model-building, the 'dry brush' technique can be used to add paint to the raised surfaces.

I went to one of the model building forums to find this solution. I am not a modeler so I don't have any of the supplies to do dry brushing.
