Help Needed: HP 48GX Screen Replacement or Repair Service Recommendations
Hello everyone,

I have an HP 48GX calculator with a severely damaged LCD screen (seems like it's bleeding or cracked internally). I'm hoping to either replace the screen myself or find a reliable service where I can send it for repair.

Could anyone guide me on the following:

1. What are the best options for replacing the screen myself? Are there any specific donor calculators that I should look for, and what tools and techniques would I need?

2. If self-repair is not feasible, could you recommend any repair services in the U.S. (or even internationally) that specialize in HP 48GX repairs?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Best regards,
Jaye

Hello Jaye

I did it myself in spite of being all thumbs. Not particularly easy but doable, patience is the key. My experience and links I'd learned from are here.

If you muster the courage to fix it yourself, please share your experience. Good luck!

Hi vaklaff,

Thank you for your reply. I have access to an HP 40GS screen, would that work as a replacement?

Thank you!

Hi Jaye,

Unfortunately, the HP40GS will not work as a donor. See Bob's post here for the list of compatible calculators.
