Replace worn HP 41CV battery contacts
Hi,
Is there anyone on the forum who does 41CV repairs? My best friend's father is a retired Civil Engineer and his heavily used 41CV has stopped working and we suspect it is the battery contact, as shown... He lives in Louisiana (USA) and I'm wondering if there is anyone on the forum who does these type repairs and could give a rough estimate as to what it would cost if we shipped it to you? Thanks for any help. Jase. PS - there is a lot of sentimental value. I hate to see it get shoved in a closet after all these years of use. |

RE: Replace worn HP 41CV battery contacts
Diego surely still has replacement flex PCB.
You see more information at https://www.clonix41.org/Maintenance/IO_..._Block.htm On that site is a link to the detailed replacement process. It is not so hard to do it yourself. I have done it more than once. Diego's mail address is inside the details PDF. Best Andi |

Hi,
From the little store in Barcelona, you can also find assembled port modules. It is a bit further away, but they ship all over the world. They also sell a book (available for online shopping) on how to repair and fix the HP41 calculator. Cheers, Thomas [35/45/55/65/67/97/80 21/25/29C 31E/32E/33E|C/34C/38E 41C|CV|CX 71B 10C/11C/12C/15C|CE/16C 32S|SII/42S 28C|S 48GX/49G/50G 35S 41X] |

RE: Replace worn HP 41CV battery contacts
For the repair, I'd suggest the entire module from TCS - it's a super easy drop-in replacement.
However, after the repair; you should consider what to do to preserve the machine. Number one, consider the environment. I notice the machine is in the 'Sportsman's Paradise' of LA. That means super high humidity which enhances corrosion. If the machine is not a 'daily driver' I'd suggest storing it in an anti-static airtight bag with desiccant. And of course without batteries. -J |

It *is* (or was) a daily driver. I think now that it's out of service, he relies on his old 15C. But I'd like to get his 41CV back up and running for him. |
