Document Set 8 is wrapping up very soon
The documents being added are listed here.
Anything I receive within the next very few days can be added. After that they will have to wait for version 9. |

RE: Document Set 8 is wrapping up very soon
Basically HP calculator documents that are not on the list above and also not on this list. are wanted. We are probably missing many non-English manuals. I think we have good coverage of the basic English user's guides though there may be software/options guides that haven't been found yet. Internals and service manuals are hard to find so always welcome when a new one comes up.
In general only HP documents are wanted for V8 since it's too late to get any additional permissions. For V9 or 8.5? we can try to get permissions on other things - though it is often difficult. |

RE: Document Set 8 is wrapping up very soon
The permissions comment was in reference to documents where HP is not the copyright holder such as third party books, articles etc. These can be difficult to track down.
The 50G and Prime are current models as far as I know and Document Set only covers the out of production models. I suppose that has a permission aspect as well since that's all I ever asked HP for, but it wasn't what I was thinking of above. |

One document we've been looking for is a manual for the HP-75C/D 00075-15035 Data Communication Pac module.

I have the ”Data Communication Pac Owner’s Manual, Series 70”, 96 pages.
The Data Communications Pac was created by Iota Systems. I once tried to analyze the ROM and found that it has one BASIC program file “DATACOMM” and the I/O Utilities LEX file with the SENDIO and ENTIO$ commands. I will hurry to the scanner! |

RE: Document Set 8 is wrapping up very soon
I have a very rough scan of the Unit Conversions and other general-purpose pages of the HP-41C Petroleum Fluids Pac. I had to borrow my wife's scanner, with which I'm not familiar, and it scanned the double-page spreads into portrait-format PDF's - I know how to stitch the three PDF's together, but I don't have a tool to rotate the pages. Sorry about this - I'm very pushed for time at the moment.
It's available here, if anyone wants to fiddle with it. --- Les [http://www.lesbell.com.au] |

Yes, petroleum fluids is already on the current (soon to be previous) set.
As for whether certain links should be removed. Your scan of someone else's IP would be a (possible) issue between you and them. In general I try to discourage things that look like obvious infringements but there are many links in this forum and I can't tell what is necessarily an infringement so I mostly have to rely on the IP owners contacting me. As I recall we had 2 "take down" requests in the last year and both were honored. |

Hello Dave, I am putting the following HP-75 ZIP files on DropBox for your next DVD, if you are interested of course. Those documents are all HP's so permissions should not be an issue. Originally I had scanned those documents at 600 DPI, then at 300 DPI but the documents size was too big. I just hope that this time the file size will small enough to be included in the DVD. RE: Document Set 8 is wrapping up very soon
Thank you Sylvain!
After an initial look it appears that we have around 5 new manuals, 5 duplicate manuals, not including the software only zips. So I just wanted to remind everyone about the existing list here so people aren't rescanning without realizing it: http://www.hpmuseum.org/software/swcd.htm The visicalc document is interesting because it has two copyrights. While I have permission from HP, I'm not sure whether multi-copyrighted documents act as an AND or OR with respect to getting permissions. |

It depends on how HP licensed the content from Visicorp or Software Arts. According to this page at Dan Bricklin's site, the copyright passed to Lotus, which means it should be owned by IBM now. (Lotus killed Visicalc shortly after acquiring it from Software Arts.) Regards, Howard |

That would save space and make more sense when dealing with multi-colored shift keys. It doesn't do much good to have the instructions request the use of a gold key when it looks the same as a blue key or a green key in the listings. Tom L Cui bono? |
