RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
I downloaded the emulator, quite impressive a device for 20 bucks. However, I noticed it can deliver 9 digits only, although acceptable, I think it would not have cost a penny more to add at least 3 more digits just like most devices of today.

If you have a TI-36x pro, I would be interested in seeing how well it does evaluating the expression I posted earlier. Too bad the bugs of the 35s prevented it from delivering all digits as expected.

Thanks.

Marcio

Like the Casio, the TI allows only real exponents.

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
The 991EX definitely accepts longer equations in textbook entry mode than the 991ES. EX also faster on integration. EX sacrificed GCD, LCM, product of equation from x=? to x=?. New is spreadsheet and ratios, and QR code to transmit data to produce graph on smartphone/tablet. Don't know how much control and analysis is available for graph produced...

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
I have downloaded the FX-991EX emulator, but the subscription model used on Classwiz emulators (and Classpad II, too!) is a great tentative for Casio make more money.
The Classwiz calculators is very simple, but isn't more powerful than WP-34s....

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
I have figured out how to solve d/dx, roots for a function, get critical points, save the critical points into the available variables for further analysis without having to re-enter the function.

Is there any way to move the function into table without having to re type it there, or vise versa?

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
Biggest shortcomings is can't move equation in table to regular calculation mode or vise versa, and all history along with equations are lost when calculator mode is changed or when turned off. Oddly, variables including matrices, vectors, last answer memories remain after calculator is turned off or calculating mode changed. That said, I like this very pocketable device!

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
My defined matrices disappear after changing mode & then returning to matrix mode.

Integration is faster than on old 991 DE PLUS or TI 30X Pro.

Writing on the fascia pretty illegible.

Overall pleasant to use.

I love the recurring decimals.

Hi Jebem and Gerald,

I just checked my version...it says CY 235 Ver B

Gerald...my unit doesn't seem to have the continued fraction(where is this function on your device?) I think I was mistaken about matrices being retained in memory after changing mode or turning unit off. Variables are retained.

BTW Where did you buy it? I don't seem to find this calc on Amazon.
Any emulator to try it?

Actually my model is an fx-991DE X, version CY-251 Ver A.

Recurring decimal is ALPHA SQRT.

Bought from Dynatech in Germany.

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
When doing a version check, pressing shift,7,on...if I then press 8 instead of 9, I get a list of items that may relate to key definitions...do you (Jebem, Gerald) know what this material is? Does it allow for operations to be allowed or traded off for other operations?

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
In addition to the display that comes up in diagnostic when 8 is pressed instead of 9, each item in the table that comes up can be highlighted by pressing the key that corresponds. Have no idea as to what that does/means. When exiting the diagnostic mode when it is entered using 9, the display shows 00 when I press AC (after using shift to go through the different screen tests). If I then press shift, it shows 01. If I then press alpha key, it displays 02. Does any of this mean anything?

Correction to above...didn't use 9 to enter diagnostic screen...used 7. 8 results in the list that I wrote of...

Not continued fraction but recurring decimal.

eg For input

7/107

the calculator displays

0,06542056074766355140186915887850467289719626168224299

all of the figures after the , (decimal point in German) connected by a vinculum.

Thanks Marcio. I downloaded the simulator that is only in German.
Also the Casio web site only advertises the fx991EWX on the German site, the French one doesn't show it. Weird commercialization.

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
Concerning speed, integrating

1/ln(x)

from 2 to 1E6

the classwiz is faster than my ti-85, TI-86, TI-92 Plus & HP 50G for the built-in integration functions.

Happily

http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-424...ht=Kronrod

provides a faster integration method for the 50G.

Still, pretty good result for the classwiz at its price, currently € 22 at Dynatech.

RE: CASIO CLASSWIZ fx-991EX
Dear Gerald,

Would you be kind enough as to check if the 15c will return the same answer as these other machines? I purchased the 15c app but it will crash if asked to perform tasks that require computational effort.

Thanks
