Another find during my search was the (unfinished) English translation of the excellent French 'TUTORIAUX HP Prime' by Mickaël Nicotera (2.1 on the list) which can be found on this German HP webpage. Click on UNTERRICHTSMATERIAL and then on 'Download PDF' next to 'HP Prime Exercise Book'. Unfortunately in this file too the references to the Prime keys are cryptic, but if you read the translation next to the French original you will understand. Also you could use my cross-reference (attachment).

Here is most likely the font they used. Note this was superseded by the release version of the font (http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-1925.html), but if you have documents with the old one it might be useful to have that installed.

Do not use this font to create new documents. It will just make headaches for people in the future.

Could someone validate if it works properly and displays if you have installed this ttf?

To my knowledge a particular font should only be installed on the computer of the maker of a .pdf file, not on the computer of the reader of that file.

That's why on my computer (without the Prime or 39gII fonts installed) the French "TUTORIAUX HP Prime" has visible Prime keys while the English translation "Exercise HP Prime" from the German HP website has not.

With both fonts installed I see no difference, even after restarting my MacBook.

Recently I've ordered HP Prime and while waiting for its international delivery I've created small website.
Two cool (as for me) features it has:

1 and 2 are both very cool. Perhaps whoever put together 2 could also implement a click feature whereby clicking a program block would highlight it, collapse it, and expand it (switching between each mode per click).

Why the hell do people make a youtube video of everything nowadays... 'tutorials' presented on youtube are way inferior to anything written down. What's wrong with writing something down? You read at your own pace, you can quickly glimpse at recent stuff..... What is with that youtube-mania? Does self-expression inflict technological topics aswell? I don't think so.

Polarizing, I know that some prefer videos. I don't mean to offend or blame the youtubers, but when it comes to watching videos I prefer to relax, have a beer and put my feets up.
So if you are unsure and have no good reason for testing your new cam, consider just writing down your turorials.

I tend to write my tutorials because (a) I have a written record of what I did, (b) the person can print and/or save them & go at their own pace without the worry of whether the internet is going to work or not, and (c) personally, it is easier to blog my tutorials. Videos take a lot more time and my free time is limited.


OK, I am going to start working on HP Prime tutorial series for the Spreadsheet app, which hopefully will start being available in early October.

For me I sit in both camps. Often, it *depends* on the content, many times I'm frustrated wanting to quickly see how something is done while watching someone wave their mouse around the screen. Succinct videos can be good. Also, a fifteen minute video that has the 3 steps listed in the description can leave all the mouse waving for someone who has nothing better to do.

On the other hand, documents that assume you already know almost everything about the topic can tend to glaze over a number of concepts, leaving my eyes similarly glazed over. Many times a document will make a quantum leap from a basic concept to some solution. Once again, succinct, good documents are very useful.

So, I switch between the two, and depending on the quality, I don't necessarily always wish for one or the other.

I think at least some discussion on this holds merit in this thread as a heads-up to our kind tutorial makers.

Edit, on reflection, another + for documents; especially if the material is lengthy, is that they are searchable. Videos aren't really searchable until we get the next level of AI (soon ). Though I think YT videos can be annotated, just not sure about the searching bit.
