copy app from 8151 to 10077
I updated the emulator on one pc to 10077 to check out the new (and may I add impressive) features. I have not updated the hand held and two other pc's yet because the solve app, which I use a lot, is broken.

Question: can I update the handheld, then copy over the solve app from 8151, and have any chance of it working?

It won't solve multiple equations simultaneously per this thread:

http://www.hpmuseum.org/forum/thread-604...ight=solve

I can't give an example now because the pc with 10077 is at home and I am at work, but I tried the equations in the above thread on it and obtained identical results. I would have reported it but I thought it was a known issue.

RE: copy app from 8151 to 10077
I'm using the 10077 Emulator on my Win7 Home PC, and quickly tried both examples in the reference. The Solve App solved both examples, following the guidance in the Help screen.

The OP may have been using the Android version, because there were differences in the user interface, which I haven't checked out. If your pc with 10077 isn't solving those examples, (and you are getting the same error message as the OP), are there any hints as to what is going wrong?

The original poster there was using the android version which is essentially the 8151 still. The new release solves them fine in my testing - hw and windows emus.

Thanks, I must have been doing something wrong. I'll check when I get home in about 9 hours.

To answer this one - yes. You should not lose any data from your old solve app.

Another thing that happened in this release was a completely new file format for saved objects on disk that is more efficient, future proof, and cross platform.

I was trying to solve this example. Selecting just one equation per step you find the solution, however I ask: Is there a way to solve all variables as MSOLVR did on HP48/50? You know, you insert the known values and the calc search for solving all unknown variables as many as it can.

No. We do not have that type of solver yet.
