Trigonometric regressions on hp 48?
Hi,

Is there a program or any way to do since cosine and tangent regressions on the HP 48?

RE: Trigonometric regressions on hp 48?
Trigonometric regressions will have to be programmed on the HP 48, as they are not default regressions offered through the Stat menu.

Do you know of any programs for the HP 48 to do this?

You can use SOLVESYS to do a regression using ANY formula (including trig formulas). The documentation for SOLVESYS even includes an example of how to do a regression.

Thanks! Do you just need to enter how many data entries you have as the third parameter? Is there any way to do it automatically?

Can you post here a data and a regression function to see clearly what you needed exactly?!?

Thanks!
Csaba

Here's the documentation online: http://isa.umh.es/calc/ss49docs/solve49.htm

Scroll down to "Example 3: Nonlinear least-squares" to see an example. In your case, you would simply need to change the data; you will also need to change the formula to something like: 'Y=A*COS(B*T ADD C) ADD D'
