.dmg is for Mac.

FTP through firewalls / NAT routers can be tricky as the FTP protocol requires special handling by the firewall / router. Also FTP can work in "active mode" or "passive mode". Depending on your firewall / router, 0, 1 or 2 of these modes may work properly. I don't know which mode the Prime Virtual Calculator uses, if any.
