It appears that you can't solve for negative roots.
But you can just do a transformation: \(x \rightarrow -x\)
This transforms the equation to:

\(2x^3 + 3x^2 - 4x - 5 = 0\)

Enter coefficients:

2 CF0
3 CFj
-4 CFj
-5 CFj

Enter guess:

1 R/S
1.3508


And then transform the result back again to get the solution of the original equation:

-1.3508
