FWIW, the very first person I showed a 49G to was a female high school student. Her eyes bugged out and she said, "Wow, that looks COOL! If my calculator looked like that, I'd LIKE math!" My 49G never got anywhere near that kind of reaction from any of my male students.

I'm 99% sure that the author of the infamous phrase "Frozen Hamster Butt" (to describe the color of the HP 49G) was Chris Campbell, a great HP 48 programmer and prolific contributor to comp.sys.hp48 under multiple pseudonyms. I *think* that he first used his hilarious FHB description in a posting under the name Tiny Wanda, but I haven't been successful in finding that posting.
