I was thinking of doing something similar by building up a few layers of liquid gum to each roller and let it dry but haven't had time to as yet.

I was also thinking that the idler rollers that these butt up against are a lot smaller and may take to some shrink wrap to build up the diameter a tiny bit which should achieve the same effect.
