RE: [34S v3.3, 31S v1.2] Manuals
Dear Walter,
a small recommendation for cosmetic improvement before printing your manuals and biting your rear end afterwards. I noticed that the page layout footer at least of version 3.1 is not adopted to odd/even pages. A perfect book should have e.g. the page numbers moved towards the outer edge of the printing area. Also making the margins asymmetric would improve handling. Maybe an older HP manual could be a good guideline. For those who cannot make up their mind, one can also center the page numbers, like on a HP 15C manual that I just checked out. But even this manual has the page headers with the chapter titles asymmetric. If you are using MS-Word, this can be accomplished quite easily in the page setup options and the effort should be minimal compared to what you have already put into this piece of literature. Another recommendation: make sure with your copy shop that any spiral binding is not too tight. If the spiral is too small in diameter the pages rub against each other when opening and this is almost as bad as a"perfect bound" paperback binding. If the page header/footer modification could be done, I would also order one spiral bound version of the WP 34S manual. Thank you, Martin |
