Use the precision tip to put a tiny drop into the hole underneath the key, and press the key a few times to work the liquid into the contact. The key might feel/sound a little different for a few days, but should be back to normal after it's dried out a bit. The response of the key will be improved almost immediately. This also works great on Woodstocks, and possibly other models. Just be very careful of the screw posts on the 41 when opening the back of the case. It wouldn't be a bad idea to have some JB Weld Plastic Bonder handy in case you need it, and don't be surprised if you have to do a lot of cleaning on the various pressure contacts to keep the calculator behaving like it should after reassembly. My 41CV fullnut was varying degrees of dead/glitchy, and it took several attempts at reopening it and cleaning contacts to get it back to normal. |
