Who tests the fix after the code is changed but before it's released on Github? How much regression testing is done, and by whom? You can stick to the official releases, which come out about once every 3 months for major versions. Or you can enroll in the beta programs. Or you can build the master branch to get the latest developments published to date. Or you can use the third-party firmware Omega which includes just about everything the community has created in one package. Or you can roll out your own firmware with all the bells and whistles you want. It's not just about a faster release schedule than the competition. You are in control of your hardware and you don't have to rely on the original manufacturer for support. |
