I started with TI/Algebraic (cheaper), changed to HP/RPN (better in every way).
Started with IBM/Microsoft Dos/Windows (initially not all that cheap!) and changed to Apple/OSX once it had a real OS. (Technically I started with Basic in ROM ...)
Tried both Android and iOS and chose iOS, initially because iOS didn't crash as much.

And the HP-25 is great. I've acquired several "broken" ones, with the goal of installing Panamatik's HP-LP circuit, however they all worked after cleaning the battery contacts so no conversion.
