My first calculator was an HP-25, given to me by my parents as a college graduation gift (July 1975). I used it intensively for over a year until the HP-67 came out, which I bought right away on a USAF 2nd Lieutenant's pay (roughly US$7k/year). My USAF assignment at the time was in El Segundo, California, barely an hour's drive from El Toro, California where my younger brother was. As he was fascinated by the '25, when I got my '67 I gave him the '25.
That's how Father Joe Horn got into this stuff. Still the best benefit having that fine little machine had! May God have mercy on my soul! So many signals, so little bandwidth! |
