No idea. :-)

An alternative to increasing the stack size would have been to introduce some sort of warning indicator if the stack overflowed - which was the subject of Hans Klaver's excellent presentation at Allschwil 2018. He even created a modified HP-35 simulator so you can see it in action for yourselves.
