The DM42 is 50x (battery) or 130x (USB power) faster than the HP-42S, and any original HP Voyager series calcs are much slower than an original 42S so any SwissMicros offering would be expected to be relatively much faster than only 20x.

I suspect the NUT CPU emulation layer on the DM1xL models uses a lot of extra cycles to execute the original HP code. The DM42 is running native Free42 HP-42S simulator code compiled for the
ST32L476 controller with no emulation layer. The DM42 ST32L476 controller also runs at almost twice the clock speed as the LPC1115 CPU used on the DM1xL models.
