The G1 model is over $250 and the G2 model is over $280 and that's without shipping and taxes. That's USD$198 and USD$220 respectively. In 2013 I got a G1 model for only USD$130 at full price.

Meanwhile, a Casio fx-CG50 is only $160 and a TI-Nspire CX II CAS $200.

Is there an explanation about why the huge price difference and increase for the HP Prime?

Also why is the Casio fx-CG50 $160 CAD in Canada? It is around $80 USD in the U.S. which would be $101 CAD at today's exchange rate.

It should also be noted that KhiCAS is available on the Casio Fx-CG50 (thank you Parisse!) giving it a CAS that is similar to the one in the HP Prime (same Xcas engine). This makes the Casio Fx-CG50 the lowest priced currently produced color graphing calculator in the U.S. with Python and CAS capabilities.
