That's a good point. At least when connecting with Conn4x (aka the HP Connectivity Kit), tri-graphs are always converted when sending files to the calculator, regardless of TRANSIO mode. The reverse isn't always true, though. The settings of the 50g and/or software will determine how the translations occur when retrieving files from the calculator.

Since Mikkiz is using HPUserEdit, I'm not sure what rules apply. It may have its own comm link with the 50g.
