Great stuff...the future looks bright to me!

The removal of the serial number is interesting, but probably warranted. I have tried to register both my HP 35s and my HP Prime on HP's website to activate the warranty, and both times I didn't even get a confirmation email or any indication that anything happened. Removing the number entirely just bypasses this and probably keeps the calculator cost lower.

As for screws to open battery compartments, I think it's a good idea. After all, if the batteries on the 12C last 30+ years anyway, you might as well keep them securely in place.
