HP 32E Battery compartment tabs

Thanks Bill... so it looks like I cut the old ribbon and then have to get the resists off to expose the traces. It says though that you need three small copper wires to join it. Is there a better/easier way to get the wires onto the traces than having to scrape the resists off?
