I have, on Free42 with the first example I tried: 1 ENTER 2 ENTER 3 ENTER 4 XEQ “CBRT” (No problem on the real 42S, at least with this example).
The insertion of RND between steps 30 and 31 might be a workaround, but accuracy becomes limited to only twelve significant digits on Free42. Also, this will cause your example to run forever with FIX 1.
