Yes, the check takes the word as it is entered and searches for it in the list.
the word is designated unknown ("trés" is unknown, "très" is known).
For 5-letter words, the list of 'a' words contains 377 words, so I can't find any more.

Just check this website for all 5-letter words starting with A:
https://www.liste-de-mots.com/mots-nombre-lettre/5/a/
If you've copied them all to your application, you should have as many words as there are on that website.
