Thanks! It would give me an HP 82242A Infrared Printer Module, if the IR hardware in the DM41X were identical to the one used in the original module ;-)

This module - according to the manual - performs the remapping from the 82240A character set to the one used in the 82143A printer. So I am still wondering why Swiss Micros wrote their own code for the remapping, instead of merely adapting the IR output part of the 82242A to suit the hardware of the DM41X. Then again: The ROM seems to be undocumented any possibly too hard to understand and modify.
