I suspect he's talking about TI's "Scientific Calculator Sourcebook," 5½"x8¼" and ½" thick, ©1977 and 1981.  It looks like it has a load of good stuff in it, explained well, but I must admit that although I've had mine for years, probably decades, I can't remember where I got it (maybe a yard sale?) and I've hardly opened it.
