Strange, though I also encountered an issue.

When I took a break yesterday and came back to work on simplex() I noticed the file no longer compiled on my virtual calculator (2020 01 16), it gave a syntax error on a part of the code I didn't change earlier. I uploaded the same files to my physical calculator (2023 04 13), simplex.hpprgm compiled and test_simplex() passed. On the virtual calculator I clicked Calculator > Reset and transferred the files again, they complied successfully.

I'm not sure what caused it but the reset seems to have resolved the syntax error that occurred on my virtual calculator.
Edit: but now I see what you mean about crashing the virtual calculator... I'm not sure what could be causing it, but I am open to solutions.
