After more reading and a night's sleep, it's the entire line from -inf to +inf for which frac(x) is uniform. From (0-1) it may not be. Also as an iteration, a single x0's orbit may not be uniform. My pRNGs tend to be seedless for that reason. (I have stolon the idea from St Augustin grass.)
